This unit describes the performance outcomes, skills and knowledge required to upgrade telecommunications equipment and software in service provider networks and customer premises.
This unit may apply to switching, transmission, radio and computer networks using cable, optical fibre, radio, microwave and satellite transmission.
Computer networks include local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) and internet protocol (IP) based equipment of the Next Generation Networks (NGN).
